The vet won't be using Laxatone because that
is a laxative and would cause problems absorbing
the med well enough. I think that you are actually
thinking of the dog and cat oil supplement that is
similar to Ferretone, but I can't think of the name
of that offhand. There does not seem to be any
med that should be given mixed with a laxative.
Each medication has things with which it can and
can not be safely mixed. Medications differ
substantially from each other chemically whether
they are standard meds or herbal meds and each
has restrictions.
