Please do not worry, as this is a common problem with ferrets and
does not mean something terrible is going to happen at all. I have
one currently in the same boat as yours and you will have options
given to you in reference to Lupron shots or surgery, but either way,
your baby should be safe and will get thru this probably better then
you will (I mean that emotionally). Mine is getting Lupron and has
been responding well. He is full of life again and back to a normal
routine as if nothing ever went wrong. We might still have to do the
surgery, but either way, the left adrenal is the easier one for them
to deal with, so you can be rest assured he should not be leaving you
any time soon. Just keep your head up and have him seen by a
professional and they will guide you in the right direction. Many
ferrets get this and its nots not unusual at all, so keep a smile on
your face and give him love from your heart because that is what he
will need in the end.
