Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: chronic seedy poop...what do I feed?
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

First thing, you need to talk to your vet. Your right, seedy poop means yor ferret isn' t
digesting fats and starches properly. It could mean you ferret has IBS or Irietable Bowel
Syndrome which can be a cronic disease for your ferret and if left on treated it could worsen.
My Largo had severe IBS and we ended up losing him after a two month batle with it. Not to
scare you or anything. Try wet food from your vet. Science diet A/D works great. I make up
something similar to duck soup but you just mix you science diet food, some ferret-ite (or
any vitamin supplement like nutracal) and some crushed up food she is used to eating (just a
little but it is ok if you dont ad it). If she can eat that and properly digest it, start adding
some cooked beef or veal that is mashed up and slowly add her crushed food. But please
make sure you talk to your vet to insure that there isn't an undler laying problem.
