Subject: Crystals in bladder

Looking for help from anyone who has had a ferret with urethral or bladder blockages. I have a four year old male who has "crystals" in his bladder. He can't urinate on his own and has been at the er clinic with a catheter in since last night. I am having trouble finding any info on the web. They are talking about doing surgery to make a new opening for him to urinate out of or going into the bladder to "clean" it aggressivly. So far they don't know what is causing it. Has anyone ever heard of something like this or know if there is any info about bladder problems out there somewhere?
