Subject: Re: euthanasia

When I had to put my 12 year old Taz to sleep, my vet first gave him
an injection of an anesthetic. He gradually went to sleep in my
arms. The second injection was given directly into his heart also
(and I'm ashamed to say I did not have the stomach to watch it). But
at that point, he felt nothing.

I guess with a ferret it is difficult to give an intravenous
injection like with dogs and cats. With both my dog and cat, they
were given a shot in a leg vein and felt nothing. I sat with my
dog's head in my lap and he just peacefully drifted off.
