You can dissolve the pill or not - I find it easy to cut the pill into
eighths and then give it as a solid, but if it's easier to give a liquid, go
ahead and dissolve it. If you dissolve the whole pill, give an eighth of
however much liquid you use to dissolve it. If you dissolve the eighth, of
course give the whole amount. You don't need much liquid to dissolve
Carafate, by the way.
Just remember to get it all into the liquid before giving it, as it tends to
settle out easily, in my experience.
