Our oldest ferret ripped out a toenail doing God knows what a
few months ago. Unlike your situation, though, it was
sensitive and there was dried blood around the area.

And do you know what happened? He grew one back. It looked
really weird (not shaped like the other toenails) but since
then I've trimmed it and it's beginning to look normal.

I think your ferret will be okay either with or without the
nail, but don't be surprised if one grows back!
